WHAT IS RESPITE CARE?
Respite care provides short term relief for primary care givers. It can be arranged for just an afternoon or several days or weeks. Care can be provided at home, a healthcare facility or at an adult day centre.
Respite care is there to provide your main carer with a respite while ensuring your care needs are met. The types of respite care available will ensure that those receiving care will have their requirements met by our expert carers and management team.
Respite care is generally offered in two forms:
REGULAR SCHEDULED RESPITE CARE:
The need for care will arise and when it does families will schedule it as an ongoing shift this will vary from a few hours to a few weeks.
When care is scheduled on a regular basis a care agency like Quality Care Services 4u will do its best to have the same care giver on each visit.
EMERGENCY OR AS NEEDED RESPITE CARE:
Sometimes the need for respite care cannot be anticipate, Quality Care Services 4u will provide you with a care giver that will meet the immediate needs of the family.
All our care givers are well trained and will assist the client with all the tasks outlined in the care plan. Respite care givers amongst other tasks will offer the following
- Medication reminders
- Light house keeping
- Shopping and preparing meals
- Companionship.
Respite care givers will work closely with the primary care givers to make the transition as seamless as possible.
